released to be fertilized. The egg is
able to be fertilized for only about
12 to 24 hours. If that happens a
woman becomes pregnant. When a woman is physically able
to have a child her body develops
a system to create a good and
nurturing environment for the
egg. It is a lot like a nest that is
made to protect a bird's egg. A woman's body creates something
like a nest. If the egg is fertilized it
goes into the nest where it
attaches and receives all of the
oxygen and nutrients it needs to
become a baby. If pregnancy does not happen the nest is swept away.
That is menstruation.
Every month the body prepares to
receive a fertilized egg. If it does
not get a fertilized egg then the
body gets rid of it and makes a fresh nest for the next time.
